Mr. Wright has rocketed to stardom in the choral world of the US and abroad with his dozens of musical works commissioned from middle schools, high schools, college, and professional choirs. His choirs have been featured at national conventions of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA).
As a conductor, he is a sought-after clinician. He has enjoyed the opportunity to conduct honor choirs throughout the United States. He is currently the appointed Lecturer in Choral Music at Baylor University School of Music. Previously, Mr. Wright was head choral director at Mansfield High School. Under his direction, his choirs have won numerous awards and consistently earn “Outstanding in Class" at State and National Music Festivals. The Mansfield High School Varsity Treble Choir was featured as a SWACDA invited choir in 2012 and 2022 and, as mentioned, the ACDA National convention in 2023. In 2018, the Mansfield High School Men’s Choir was honored as a TMEA Invited Choir.
As a composer, Mr. Wright’s works have been performed by All State Choirs and invited convention choirs. His “Invictus” was performed in the 2021 ACDA National Convention and by the 2022 Texas All State Tenor - Bass Choir. He is published by Brilee, Carl Fischer, Graphite, Hal Leonard, Oxford University Press, Santa Barbara Music Publishing, and his own publishing company, Reginal Wright Music.
Mr. Wright received both his Bachelor and Masters of Music Education Degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He resides in Arlington, Texas with his wife Renetta, son Gabrien, daughter Reece, and yorkie Cooper.
