Auditions for the 2016-2017 Arlington Master Chorale Concert Season have taken place. Check back here for mid-season audition opportunities. An audition piece is not required, but sight reading, tone matching, and other skills will be tested. For more information, contact .

 

 

AMC Membership Information 2016-2017

PLEASE – NO PERFUME OR COLOGNE OF ANY KIND DURING REHEARSAL OR PERFORMANCE.

Concert Attire:

Men
Black tuxedo, white wing-tip tux shirt, black bow tie, black socks, and black dress shoes.

Women
Cost of the dress is $55-$65, and is ordered through AMC. 
Please contact Diane Rasmussen about ordering the dress. Other dress requirements: black hose, black dress shoes; single strand 18” pearl necklace, and pearl earrings.

Both
Other than wedding, engagement or graduating class rings, please no additional jewelry, watches or bracelets.

Dues:

Each member is required to pay dues of $140 for the concert season, regardless of concerts the member may not sing or time of year that the member joins AMC.

  • Dues must be paid in full by the FIRST concert of the season. If dues are not paid by the first concert of the season, you will not be allowed to sing with the chorus.
  • Any variance to this policy MUST be approved by the Executive Board.
  • Additional fees may be assessed for retreats, special projects or events, but the Executive Board and music staff work diligently to minimize the impact on members. Such fees are limited to AMC’s direct costs.

LIMITED financial assistance is available by application to the Executive Board, NO LATER than the fourth week of rehearsals. 

Rehearsal:

Attendance at rehearsal is mandatory.  If you have to miss a rehearsal, you must call/email your section leader.

absences from rehearsal: you may be required to demonstrate proficiency with the music to the Music Director.

absences from rehearsals before any concert of the season: you will be asked to sit out that concert performance.

Any variance from this policy must be approved by the Music Director and the Executive Board.

Committees:

Each member is strongly encouraged to participate in the necessary business of the chorale, including fund-raising events and special projects.
